Honored sheets, exalted and purified – Quran
No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; so whoever wills may remember the verses and Allah. It is recorded in honored sheets, exalted and purified, carried by the hands of messenger-angels, noble and dutiful.
These are the words of Allah, sent to mankind as guidance and mercy. The beauty of the Quran is that it is still present and preserved in its original form for all of mankind to examine and learn from. One of the clearest indications of its miraculous nature is the style it was conveyed in. No one has been able to replicate that style.
This is the book about which there is no doubt,
Allah challenges mankind, if they have doubt about Quran being the speech of Allah, to replicate even one chapter similar to it in eloquence and style, and yet no one has been able to do so, even until today after 1400 years. In order to destroy the basis of entire Islam, one only needs to produce a “soorah” (chapter) similar to that of Quran. However, no one has been able to fulfill this challenge. Allah (the most exalted) says, “And if you are in doubt as to what We have sent down to Our servant (the Quran), then produce a champter similar to it. But if you do not do it, – and of a surety you cannot do it – then fear the fire whose fuel are men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers. No one has been able to produce something similar to a chapter of the Quran. Quran was revealed over a period of twenty-three years, but there are no contradictions in it. The revelation covered different issues and circumstances and problems and yet it is in complete harmony.
It is recorded in honored sheets, exalted and purified, carried by hands of messenger-angels, noble and dutiful.
There are no disagreements upon the fact that the Quran has been preserved word for word, letter for letter, for 1400 years ago, and hasn’t gone absolutely any change. In fact, there is a specific science in Islam, known as Science of Tajweed, which teaches people to pronounce the Quran in the exact same way that Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his companions recited the Quran. Furthermore, there is a science known as Mustalah al-Hadeeth (science of preservation of prophetic narrations), which has allowed Muslim to preserve the statements, actions, and description of character, which are preserved in volumes and book and has allowed the Muslim nation to preserve the information on how the early generations of Muslims understood the Quran.
These are the verses of the wise Book, as Guidance and Mercy for the doers of good.
The primary purpose of the Quran is guidance; therefore, it comes with a faultless organization of belief system and legal laws. Faith and Action in the Quran are in perfect harmony. Regarding faith, no religion comes close to a perfect Monotheism. Some religions may be flawed in worshipping other deities than Allah, while others are flawed in describing the attributes of Allah; however, in Islam we will find Monotheism to be completely perfect, whether it be in regards to Allah’s Lordship, Names and Attributes or His sole right to be worshipped.
This is a Book whose verses are perfected and then presented in detail from one who is Wise and Acquainted. Through a messenger, saying, “Do not worship except Allah . Indeed, I am to you from Him a Warner and a bringer of good tidings,”
Quran presents a perfect code of ethics and legal laws. It is moderate and balance, universal and comprehensive, realistic and practical, covers both the ends and means, meets the need of people, and reward and punishment is attached to the deeds. The proof is history; whenever the Muslim nations adhered to the Quran they flourished, and whenever they neglected the Quran they were disgraced. The Shariah (legal code), when applied in totality, makes the society and the individual better. And it isn’t limited to a certain branch of life, but it is complete in being a perfect way of life.
These are the verses of the Qur’an and a clear Book as guidance and good tidings for the believers.
The style of conveyance makes the law easily understood; and millions today have the Quran memorized completely, where no book can be memorized by this quantity of people. While majority of us can’t even comprehend human tax code, five year old Muslims can have the Islamic inheritance law memorized. The beauty and eloquence allows one to recite the same chapters over and over again; Muslim recite the first chapter, Soorah al-Fatiha, every day, minimum of seventeen times a day, for an entire lifetime, and they do so without getting bored of it; while, if it is anything else besides the Quran, a person would just get bored of it.
This is a Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that you might bring mankind out of darknesses into the light by permission of their Lord – to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy.
The path of a Muslim is unique, and one of the main reasons for that is that Islam comes from God, and not humans. Due to it being finality of the messages, it has been preserved by God Almighty, and there the source book of Islam (Quran) has not been changed, altered, and the original text is still preserved to this day.
Everything that Allah (God) has revealed to us in the Quran is the truth, without any doubt or suspicion. Everything that He commanded is Justice after which all diversions are unjust. Everything He forbade is falsehood – for He does not forbid us from anything other then that which brings us harm. The Laws coming from God in the Quran are absolutely just and fair. To humans, justice includes fornication, homosexuality, interest, alcohol consumption, removal of capital punishment, etc. We can see the repercussions of these injustices in our society, such as the spread of diseases due to fornication, or spread family disputes and “accidental” killings due to alcohol consumption. The goal of the Quran is to nurture humanity; it is to nurture their faith by purifying their soul, it is to nurture their hearth, and it is to nurture the physical life.
The Islamic laws are unique in sacredness, such that Muslims know that God is always watching over them and they respect it because its from God. Where as we can see that in today’s western society if there is a blackout, there is a potential of mass looting; it is because people’s heart isn’t attached to the law. Islamic laws also evolved over a span of 23 year, and the Muslim community was the product of the law, not the opposite. Where as Humans laws are the product of the community because of their culture, norm and customs. Laws of Islam in the Quran and the Statements of the Prophet address the heart and the mind, where as Human laws tend to be cold, dry and boring; and only an elite class of people can understand it. The Laws of Islam is understandable and can even be memorized by everyone. A five year old can have the inheritance law memorized.
Then We placed him as a zygote in a firm lodging; Then We made the zygote into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a chewed lump [of flesh], and We made from the lump, bones, and then We covered the bones with flesh. Then We developed him into another creation – so Blessed is God, the best of Creators.
One aspect of the miraculous nature of the Quran which is being emphasized in modern times is the fact that it contains explicit statements and implicit references to many scientific facts which have only recently been discovered. Amazingly, despite its frequent mention of numerous physical and biological occurrences, not a single verse in the Quran contradicts a known and proven scientific fact. One of the most prominent examples of this is the description given of the evolution of the human embryo in its mother’s womb. At a time when scientists had no knowledge whatsoever of this science, the Quran gives striking images and precise descriptions which accurately match modern depictions of the embryo.
The explicit descriptions given of the evolution of the human embryo, in such simple yet graphically accurate language, were simply unknown to mankind until very recently. It is this reality that has led many unbiased scientists and researchers, regardless of their religious background, to acknowledge the scientific accuracy of the Quran. In fact, the former president of West Germany, Dr. Richard Von Weizsäcker remarked to a group of college students as he welcomed them to a new academic year, “The Quran is the only divine book that explained the science of embryology in such a manner that scientists themselves could not do until our times.”
Professor Emeritus Keith L. Moore is one of the world’s most prominent scientists in the fields of anatomy and embryology. In 1981, during the Seventh Medical Conference in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Professor Moore said: “It has been a great pleasure for me to help clarify statements in the Quran about human development. It is clear to me that these statements must have come to Muhammad from God, because almost all of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later. This proves to me that Muhammad must have been a messenger of God.”
Consequently, Professor Moore was asked the following question: “Does this mean that you believe that the Quran is the word of God?” He replied: “I find no difficulty in accepting this.”
The revelation of the Book is from Allah , the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. The forgiver of sin, acceptor of repentance, severe in punishment, owner of abundance. There is no deity except Him; to Him is the destination. No one disputes concerning the signs of Allah except those who disbelieve, so be not deceived by their uninhibited movement throughout the land.
